SERVICE USER INSTRUCTIONS

Registered User

You can submit information and make activity announcements in the Lähellä.fi online service by registering as a user and creating a profile for your non-governmental organisation. Registration, logging in, and submitting information are easy – but just in case, you'll find detailed instructions below. You can also download printable instructions here.

Widget

A widget is an easy way to display information submitted to Lähellä.fi directly on your own website. Download the instructions for creating widgets here.

Registration – Creating the First Organisation and User Account

  • Click the Register and Submit Content link in the top right-hand corner of the website

  • Fill in the basic information about your organisation using the form

  • Proceed to create your user account

  • Confirm your user account via the email sent to you

  • Create a password and log in

    Great! Your registration is now complete, and you can start creating activity announcements!

Registering in an Existing Organisation

  • Click the Register and Submit Content link in the top right-hand corner of the website

  • Search for your organisation by typing its name into the search field

  • Click the "Create User Account" button next to the organisation

  • Confirm your user account via the email sent to you

  • Create a password and log in

Great! Your registration is now complete!

Now, just wait for an existing user from your organisation to grant you access. After that, you're all set to create activity announcements!

How Do I log in to the Online Service?

  • Click the Log In link at the top of the website

  • Your username is the email address you provided in the user registration form

  • Enter your username and password, then click the "Log in" button

You have now successfully logged in to the admin view!

Registration – Creating and Joining Another Organisation

  • Click the "Register and Submit Content" link in the top right-hand corner of the website

  • Fill in the basic information about your organisation

  • Click "Create Organisation"

  • Log in using the user account you previously created

  • Click on your profile icon in the top right corner and select "My Data"

  • In the "Request Access to Another Organisation" field, enter the name of the organisation you just created

    Great! You now have access to this organisation as well, and can create activity announcements for it too!

    If you want to create more organisations, repeat the steps in this guide.

Forgot Your Password or Want to Change It?

  • Click the Log In link at the top of the website

  • Click the Forgot Password link below the login form

  • Enter the email address linked to your username in the field and press the "Reset Password" button

  • You will receive an email with a link to reset your password

  • Enter your new password in both fields of the form and press the "Submit" button

  • Your password has now been successfully updated!

How Do I Accept a New User for My Organisation?

  • Click the Log In link at the top of the website

  • In the admin view, click the "Organisation Details and Users" button

  • Under the organisation's basic information, you can see the users in your organisation

  • To accept a new user for your organisation, click the "Add Access" button

  • To remove a user's access to your organisation, click the "Remove Access" button

How Do I Announce Activities in the Service?

  • Log in the service by clicking the Log In link at the top of the website

  • In the admin view, click the “Activity Announcements” button

  • On the "Activity Announcements" tab, you can add, edit, and manage your organisation’s activity announcements

  • Select the suitable category for your activity announcement:

    • Help and Support. Select this if you are announcing activities, services, websites, or similar services that provide help and support for everyday life, different life situations, concerns, or crises.

    • Hobbies and Leisure. Select this if you are announcing leisure events and activities, hobbies, or opportunities to, for example, strengthen civic skills, such as participating in NGO activities.

    • Volunteering. Select this if you are announcing volunteering activities, a position of trust, or other opportunities to contribute within NGOs.

  • In LähelläPRO, you can choose the following activity announcement categories:

    • Events, Instructions, and Support Services. Select this if you are announcing an event, training, or support service aimed at organization activists, professionals, or partners such as municipalities or wellbeing service counties.

    • News and Announcements. Select this if you want to create a news update, announce your participation in the creation of a statement or opinion, or if you are seeking a collaboration partner.

  • Click the suitable category

  • Follow the instructions on the data entry form

  • Save the form by clicking the "Save" button – you can continue filling in details or publish the announcement later

  • Click the "Publish" button

  • Great! Your announcement is now visible to everyone in the Lähellä.fi service!
