Lähellä.fi provides open data to enhance the visibility of organizations and local activities. Using the API is free of charge, subject to following our terms and fair use principles.

1. API Onboarding

To request access to the Lähellä.fi API for your application or platform, please contact us via email:

2. User Accounts and Documentation

To issue access, we require the contact person's name, phone number, and email address. We will create a user account for you, which grants access to the full API documentation and endpoint details.

Your contact information is strictly kept for Lähellä.fi administration purposes to notify you of critical API maintenance or updates.

3. Open Data & Fair Use

Lähellä.fi operates on open data principles. We expect all integrating organizations to respect good data usage practices and standard API rate limits.

4. Strictly Non-Commercial

All API content is intended for non-commercial purposes only:

  • Reselling or packaging the data as-is is strictly prohibited.

  • The data may not be utilized for commercial sales targeting the listed organizations or used as part of a paid commercial service.

5. Attribution

Lähellä.fi must always be clearly credited as the source whenever the organization or activity data is displayed on your platform.

Attribution can be fulfilled by:

  • Adding a clear note "Source: Lähellä.fi" in listing views, profiles, or description fields.

  • Providing a direct hyperlink leading to the original content page on Lähellä.fi.
