SPR Reshop Vaasa - Let the good go around

SPR-Reshop offers pay subsidy work, apprenticeship training, work try-out, rehabilitative work activities and a place for serving community sanctions.

SPR Reshop is a chain of seven recycling shops run by the Finnish Red Cross Western Finland District, located in Jyväskylä, Seinäjoki, Vaasa and Kokkola. The shops sell clean and intact items received as donations and provide assistance for both domestic and international relief work.

SPR Reshops employ more than 100 people annually through subsidised employment, apprenticeship training, work trials and rehabilitative work activities. Criminal sanctions and internships as part of studies can also be served in SPR Reshop.

SPR Reshop is a low-threshold workplace, providing a supportive environment for learning and practising the rules, routines and expectations of working life. The activities are goal-oriented and offer the opportunity to try various tasks, such as:

• Cashier work and customer service

• Transport and warehouse duties

• Receiving donations, sorting, checking saleability and pricing

• Visual merchandising and display work

• Organising the shop and maintaining cleanliness

• Garment care, e.g., ironing

A work period at SPR Reshop is not only a step towards employment, but also a step towards a more meaningful everyday life. It brings structure to daily routines and increases social interaction, which is especially important after a long period of unemployment.
